When the healers in charge of the heart's good health took the initiative to organise a run at the newly inaugurated Ambazari Biodiversity Park, people from all walks of life participated.
The Ambazari Biodiversity Park is already a beautiful venue with birds, trees, and a lot of quiet to enjoy fresh air, and energise oneself. The Park was missing one element in all its beauty - people to admire it and add to its splendour.
"Somehow in daily routine of our life, we ignore our health, but when we get to suffer from any health issue at that time we understand its value."
Coming from this place of belief, the folks at the Prism Eye and Heart Clinic decided on a proactive approach to offer something for every kind of walker/ runner. A 10k race for the fitness-minded, a 5.5k walk/ run for those used to 20 minutes of exercise almost everyday, and a 2.5k walk/ run for those being invited to invest in their future good health.
Most of us get busy in our routines to be able to provide care and stability to our families and our loved ones. In this process, we put ourselves and our health last.
Unless we change that, we cannot role model that for our young ones. This event was an effort to attain that objective.
People came to participate with their families, with their neighbours and friends, and with their morning walk groups. What they all came for, was with the firm intent to reach that finish line, having affirmed to themselves, that they are taking their own heart health seriously.
Anyone can run - all it takes is a little love for the heart, a little love for ourselves and our ability to use that heart to serve our families and our communities better. Every type of runner and walker is welcome into this wonderful and warm event: children, the elderly, the fit, the will-be-fit-in-2020... everyone. Join us in investing in heart health.
