We could have come here, traveled around the place, not photographed the event at all, lost our job, come back home and it wouldn’t have mattered, in fact it would have been worth it.
Run Buddies Club is a group of very passionate individuals, who don’t just orgainze usual events and go about their business, but they do it in style, every time. The energy levels and the enthusiasm is generally always top gear. But, talking to them and hearing from the other people involved, they seemed more than their usual excited for this culminating event to the path breaking Monsoon Marathon series. They had made us experience three of the most unique and untouched marathon routes this season prior to this and our team at Veloscope and the the participants in general were positive that with Durshet last month, the best route they had to offer, was witnessed. It took 5 minutes of us arriving at the start point the prior evening to realise how wrong we were, why the folks at Run Buddies were so damn excited and could only imagine how overwhelmed were the runners going to be the next morning.

Brahmagiri, the hill of lord Brahma, stands at an altitude of around 1298 meters, has an extremely rich mythological value and continues to bless today the trekkers and sane people looking for peace in the mountains and not in the hill stations.
The morning fog cover over the hills was off after the sunrise and the glorious valley with greens as far as ones eyesight and imagination could go were the playgrounds. Run your heart out!
The couple which runs together and climbs together.. comes out on the other side, where the grass is greener, as the proverb has it.
What a celebration of running and what a series of surprise after surprise. The efforts put behind the scenes can only be imagined, not comprehended. Four marathons outdoing each other, one after the other, in places away from the comfort and accessibility, in some extreme weather conditions. Events that not only tested the runners' endurance & skills and demanded seriousness, but gave back more than it asked from an individual. These were tough, very tough routes, let no one mistake that looking at the beauty that surrounded them, but the memories and self realisations, which differ from person to person of course, everyone took back, is priceless. The only question being, where do we go from here??
