Amidst the thunders and showers.

on a cold rainy morning.

The rain from the previous evening had continued, consistent in it’s pace and strength. A wet and cold morning awaited everyone at the race. The organizers scrambled to get the necessary last minute changes and to keep the start on time, the runners prepared themselves to tackle the new conditions and the photographers had to find their own unique ways in the rain. Everyone was almost ready.

The conditions were adverse, but the willingness to run was much stronger. The start was on time.

Capital city of the God’s own country has a very sleek vibe about it. It’s not an ultra metro but an organized, modern, rapidly developing and improving city.

the pace never dropped.

The rain continued two odd hours into the race, eventually coming to an hault. The runners adjusted to the different, difficult conditions and the pace didn’t drop through out the run. The march towards the finishing line was unmoved.

Rains and dance in India are almost symbolic, special thanks to the movies for that. A live group band by the course was a major highlight as the runners passing by couldn’t help giving into the band’s enthusiasm and stopped to match a few steps before continuing on the route.

Marathons are still new to the city of Trivandrum and it intrigued everyone around going about their daily routines. They watched, cheered, sipped on tea and coffees and enjoyed the morning show.

With the marathon difficulty level going up with the rainy conditions, runners had their work cut out but the challenge was expected. Finishing line brought joy, pride, aching muscles with drenched bodies and gears.
A wonderful step up for Trivandrum and a great city venue for the runners. This one will be in the memories for a long time to come.
